Some friends think I'm kinda odd that I spend nearly a hundred bucks on comics per month, some of my friends thinks it's really odd to buy a book that releases 3-4 times a month! I always tell them "While Spider-Man is an awesome hero I would drop his book with no second thought if it becomes terrible." But this book has been non-stop awesome since I first picked it up! While most folks have had problems with Spidey when the story "One More Day" was released Spidey has had pretty much great to even AMAZING (Sorry) stories after that! That is probably to the books large writing and art team. Each arc being covered by a different creative duo. With such great writers as Joe Kelly, Dan Slott, Zeb Wells, Mark Waid & even Joe Quesada himself it has been quite the run! The art ranges from good to superb! Never a really a low moment in the books career! I'll keep paying the books as long as they keep pumping out great stories!

Now, I would say it's quite obvious that Flash would be in my Top 5. I mean, he's pretty much MY main guy. I absolutely fell in love with him when he was introduced early on in a single episode of Superman TAS and then gaining a spot in the Justice League cartoon. After which I bought many trades involving the Flash and absolutely fell in love with the guy! Both Barry & Wally stories that I have read have been fantastyic while some may be cheesy (Mostly Barry's) they were quite enjoyable reads! The Flash is probably my FAVORITE superhero of all time (Maybe) but that still doesn't mean his book wouldn't be amazing. I mean it has been bad in the past and it's had it's okay years. But I can greatly say that this Flash book is DEFINITELY some of the best DC is putting out right now. This book has been the Pick of the Week for me, every time it's come out. This book is consistently good and never has a down point for me thus far! Geoff Johns is a fantastic writer and I honestly can't think of ANYTHING that he has written that I considered "bad". Not to mention Francis Manapul's art is absolutely beautiful in this book, the man was pretty much made to draw the Flash.

Along with Flash, the Batman family books are one of my few attachments to DC. I love the Batman family, from Bruce himself to the many supporting characters and the Rogues gallery I just can't get enough of it! While Batman is not my favorite DC hero he'll definitely be my first thanks to Batman TAS. Now while I do love Batman he's never been my favorite of the Bat books, I always enjoyed the supporting characters mostly the Robin's aka Dick Grayson & Tim Drake (Not counting Jason or Todd for now). I always had an attachment to these characters, maybe because they weren't exactly like Batman more younger and lighter. When I got into comics Tim was Robin at the time so technically he was my first Robin so I'll usually associate him with the title. After being booted from the role of Robin he took on the already negative identity known as Red Robin. So I Always had an attachment to Tim so I was bound to pick up his book, was it worth it? While I do agree it started out a bit slow it really grew really fast and became one of my most look forward to books every month! With the inclusion of Ra's al Ghul it became a really interesting story as we can see Tim growing to be nearly like Batman himself even getting earning great respect from Ra's (Which is quite difficult to do). I'm absolutely loving Marcus To's art in this book and is really fitting for it. While I was worried when Chris Yost left the book Fabian Nicieza quickly got rid of my fears and is doing a fantastic job to the book!

This is the book I NEVER expected to be on my pull none the less in my Top 5! I've never been in the "heroes trying to redeem themselves" type stories. This along with secret Six never appealed to me. But with a whole bunch of books were coming out in the Heroic Age and Thunderbolts was getting a whole new team line-up consisting of Moonstone (Previous Thunderbolts member & Dark Avengers member), Crossbones (Probably the closest you'll ever get to an Anti-Cap), Juggernaut (The unstoppable moving man and villain to the X-Men & man other heroes!), Ghost (Ghost like computer hack, enemy of Iron Man), Man-Thing (I honestly don't what he's from but he's awesome), & lead by Avenger Luke Cage. I had very few attachments to any of these characters so I didn't really pursue the book but then I saw some preview pages of the first issue and I instantly FELL in love with Kev Walker's art. As days grew closer to the release all I could think about was Walker's art and would look up the pages again to get my fix. As the day it released I ended up picking up the book without a single thought just based off the art. I read the isse and Really loved Parker's writing and really enjoying the book. I think I prefer this more to Secret Six is because that these villains really aren't redeeming themselves the program is more like rehab which some heroes join to gain some respect to be heroes, to shed some time off of their jail time, or really had nothing better to do since they're in for life.

If you talk to enough people you know you'll learn I'm not a fan of the Horror genre, in fact I mostly despise it! I hate being scared out of my wits or having having to sit through awful movies or stories. I'm especially not a big fan of Zombie related stories. So it's a big surprise that I love Robert Kirkman's creator owned book, The Walking Dead. I read the writers other created books such as Invincible & Haunt but I never really read Walking Dead. One day I found out my local library had a bunch of the hardcovers so I sat down and read them all and really grew to love this book. This book is not really about the zombies but rather the human survivors who are living in this new zombie filled world. In fact the zombies are never usually a threat and can easily be taken out most of the time. Just following the lives of the many characters that Kirkman created is fantastic. And even sometimes humans worse enemy can be his fellow man. I would love to go into more detail about this book but I really shouldn't ruin it! I'll actually recommend picking up the hardcovers and giving it a read yourself!
